Kathleen Scurry Todd

Kathleen Scurry Todd, 88, of Saluda, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Born in Lydia, SC, October 16, 1927, Kathleen was the daughter of the late George Preston and Susan Coleman Scurry and devoted wife of the late Boyce Todd. She lived in Saluda since the age of three months, was a graduate of Saluda High School and Anderson College. A charter member of Saluda Presbyterian Church where she was also married, she served as Elder, Clerk of Session, Sunday School teacher, and Moderator of Presbyterian Women. Kathleen also served as District Chairman of Congaree Presbyterian Women (New Trinity) and was presented an Honorary Life Membership by the Saluda Presbyterian Women. Mama Kat, as she was affectionately called by not only her family, but all who knew her, was known for her unconditional love and devotion to her God, her church, her family, and her friends. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, and watching sports on TV, but most of all, she loved cooking for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Jane Todd, Lexington, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, Boyce Grier Todd (Lillian), Flowery Branch, GA; George Scurry Todd (Renee), Lexington, SC; Joseph Keith Todd (Shuana), Chapin, SC. Grandchildren Meg Todd Davis (Blake), Prosperity, SC; Nancy Todd Jordan (Jeffrey), Saluda, SC; Zachary Boyce Todd, Greenville, SC; Jonathan David Todd, Chapin, SC; Step-Granddaughter, Monica Leigh Harvell, Flowery Branch, GA. Great Grandchildren, Heidi Leighann Corley, Emily and Erica Davis, and Nyla and Natalie Jordan. She is also survived by her granddaughter’s mother and good friend, Lynn Griffith Anderson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and parents, one sister, and five brothers. Mama Kat is the last surviving member of her immediate family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Saluda Presbyterian Church, 103 West Highland Avenue, with the Reverend Helen Harrison Coker officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at Ramey Funeral Home, 202 N. Rudolph Street, Saluda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Saluda Presbyterian Church, 103 West Highland Avenue, Saluda, SC 29138 or Saluda Nursing Home, 581 Newberry Hwy., Saluda SC, 29138.
