Robert Hendrix Koon's Obituary
Robert Hendrix Koon, 86, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014.
Born in Lexington County, son of H. Lee and Katie Lou Hendrix Koon. He was a retired truck driver and owner of Koon's Trucking Company. He served his country in the US Army Air Corp in the Philippine Islands and was a member of Emory United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma Norris Koon, sons, Carl H. Koon (Judy) of Lexington, Robert N. Koon (Marilyn) of West Columbia, daughters, Patricia Wood of Saluda, Debra Lybrand of Indonesia, Katherine Shealy (Todd) of Leesville, a brother, David Koon (Brenda) of Irmo, sisters, Virginia Pugh of Laurens and Sandra Hawkins (Buck) of Batesburg, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son , Keith Marvin Koon.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Saturday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Frank Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Memorial Gardens, Leesville, SC.
Memorials may be made to Emory United Methodist Church, Help Fund, 423 Emory Rd., Saluda, SC 29138.
