Barbara Hyler Crouch

August 27, 1928 - August 24, 2016

Barbara (Mama Crouch) passed away peacefully on August 24th, 2016. She lived her final days with her son (Bobby) and his wife (Linda) in Moncks Corner, S.C. Barbara was born in Saluda County and was a member of Gassaway United Methodist Church where she and her late husband William (Buddy) Crouch enjoyed a warm and special relationship with their church family. This was a woman with a green thumb and big heart. On one accession she took a dead stick from the woods to support the stem of her potted Easter lily. This dead stick started to produce new growth and flourished. She had that same effect on people. Mama Crouch spent much of her later years reading and cross stitching and quilting in the company of her beloved dog (Izzy). Most of her early years were spent raising three sons, Bobby, Billy and Harold. If you know her boys you know that was no easy task but she did it with abundant love and toleration. She taught them the virtues of hard work and self-respect with her every action. Her love and compassion for others always shined brightly for her children to see. Surviving are her three sons, Bobby Wingard (Linda), Billy Wingard (Linda) and Harold Crouch, ten grandchildren, Amy Berube (Mark), Bryan Wingard (Stephanie), Michelle Boyd (John), Jason Wingard (Melanie), Adam Reeves (Kristie), Jessica Marie Crouch, Stephanie Ranee Crouch, Brandi Gail Griffin, Courtney Nuckols (Trey) and Allison Davis and fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Gassaway United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the service.
