Larry Leon Lake, 81, died Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Noah Leon and Mattie Lou Dominick Lake, he was the husband of the late Mary June Caldwell Lake. Mr. Lake served in the SC National Guard 122nd Engineering Battalion and was a lifelong truck driver and owner of Lake's Trucking Inc. He was Past Chief of Hollywood Fire Department, Past President of Hollywood Ruritan Club and he was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda L. Dimen of Saluda, a son Reedy L. Lake of Saluda, a brother, Floyd Hodge (Janice) of Saluda, a sister Dawn Ott (Ervin) of Chapin, five grandchildren, Shane Lake (Jennifer), Danielle Mathias (Chase), Justin Drafts, Kayla Jo Scott (Stephen), Courtney Montjoy and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Freeman and Rev. Dan Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8PM Tuesday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
