Newberry, SC Tony Koon Tony Royal Koon, Sr., 71, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Saluda, he was the son of the late Jimmie Lee "J.L." Koon, Sr. and Eva Belle Brazell Koon. Surviving are two sons, Tony R. Koon, Jr. (Rachel) of Leesville and James Jayell Koon of Edgefield, two daughters, Leisa Butler (Lee) of Columbia, SC and Regina Hall (Donald) of Mebane, NC, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Koon was preceded in death by two brothers, John Eugene Koon and Jimmie Lee Koon, Jr. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, March 21, 2022 at Butler United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lee Butler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the graveside.
