William Adams "Billy" Forrest

William Adams "Billy" Forrest, 80, died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his residence. Born in Saluda County and a son of the late William Theopolis Forrest and Videssie Adams Boozer, he was the husband of Virginia Lee James Forrest. Mr. Forrest was a US Army veteran during the Korean conflict and was retired from Riegel Textile. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher and choir member. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lee James Forrest, a daughter, Billie McDowell (Alan) of Edgefield, two step-sons, Tommy Nicholson of Saluda and Jimmy Nicholson of Ninety Six, a brother, Tom Smith (Linda) of N. Augusta, a sister, Dianne Caughman (Randy) of Leesville, two grandsons, Joshua McDowell and Matt Nicholson, three granddaughters, Katie Nicholson, Keri Calliham and Kallie Nicholson and three great-granddaughters, Attison Edwards, Naomi Nicholson and Edel McDowell. The Funeral Service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Romines officiating. Interment will follow in Travis Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 13795 C.R. Koon Hwy., Newberry, SC 29108.
