Alex Forrest
Alex Christopher Forrest, 38, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home.
Born in West Columbia, and a son of William Thomas "Tommy" Forrest and Elizabeth Taylor Forrest, he was the husband of Heather Nicole Smith Forrest. A proud member of the Class of 2005 at Saluda High School, Alex formed lifelong friendships and carried his Tiger pride with him throughout his life. He was a former employee of IP Silverstreet and a member of Butler Methodist Church.
He was a devoted fan of South Carolina Gamecocks football. Whether gathered around the television on Saturdays or talking football with friends, he proudly supported his Gamecocks through every victory and defeat. His passion for the team was only rivaled by the love he had for his children. Alex's children were the light of his life and his greatest accomplishment. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether teaching them to cast a fishing line, cheering them on from the sidelines, or simply enjoying quiet evenings together. His love was steady, strong, and unconditional.
When he wasn't spending time with his family, he could often be found near the water with a fishing rod in hand. Fishing brought him peace and joy, and many fond memories were made.
Surviving alongside his parents and spouse are four children, Landon Forrest, Tristen Forrest, Addilynn Forrest, and Gracie Miller, a sister, Amber Sorcia (Alex) of Saluda, a brother, Tyler Forrest (Taylor) of Ward, and nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Sorcia, Max Sorcia, and Palin Forrest.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Butler Methodist Church Cemetery with Susan Shealy Frye officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to The Boy's Farm, P.O. Box 713, Newberry, SC 29108.
