Alice Johnson

Alice Cornelia Burdette Johnson, 82, died Monday, February 7, 2022 at her home.

Born in Calhoun Falls, SC and a daughter of the late Clyde Burdette and Lida Chapman Burdette, she was the wife of the late Lofton Gurnie Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a retired sewing instructor from Greenwood Vocational, District 50 and a former employee with the Saluda Shirt Plant. She was a member of Richland Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are her companion, Philip "Bubba" Hartley of the home, two sons, Lofton G. "Johnny" Johnson of N. Charleston and Edward Johnson (Yvonne) of Cross Hill, a daughter, Tammie Dorn (Thomas) of Greenwood, a stepson, Russell Johnson of W. Columbia, a step daughter, Debora Johnson of W. Columbia, a sister, Lilian Hare of Topeka, KS, a brother, Doug Burdette of Winchester, VA, six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by four siblings.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Richland Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
