Amelia Berry

Amelia Ellen Hurt Berry, 72, of 112 Vale Drive, Lexington, SC, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

Born in Aiken, she was the daughter of Joe Pat and Annie Mae Hurt, and wife of Robert Broadus Berry. She attended Saluda High School, graduating in 1966, and Palmer College in 1967. She worked 40 years in the banking industry for South Carolina National, Wachovia, and the South Carolina Credit Union League. She was a member of Broadacres Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Berry was an avid Gamecock fan, loved traveling to the mountains and adored her grandson.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Broadus Berry of Lexington, one son, Michael Berry (Angela) of Beech Mountain, NC, one grandson, Braeden Berry of Beech Mountain, NC, one sister, Patricia Rodgers (Ed) of White Rock, SC, a niece, Melanie Vincent (Perry), a nephew, Joel Rodgers (Crystal), two great-nieces, Hannah Boe (Alex) and Brittney Rodgers, a great-nephew, Grant Vincent, and a great-great-nephew, Wyatt Boe.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Broadacres Baptist Church in Cayce, SC, with Rev. Shane McDaniel officiating. A committal service will be held at 4:30 PM, July 10, 2021 at Hurt Cemetery in Saluda, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church, and also following the committal service at the cemetery.
