Anna Rae Maffett

Anna Rae Maffett, 86, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda County, she was the daughter of the late George Clinton Maffett and Maggie Mozelle Addy Maffett. Ms. Maffett dedicated much of her career to the textile industry, where her hard work and attention to detail were deeply valued. Outside of work, she found great joy in gardening, especially tending to her flowers, which brought color and beauty to her life and those around her.

Surviving are a sister, Gillett Maffett Hipp of W. Columbia, two sisters-in-laws, Betty Maffett of Saluda and Judy Maffett of Ninety-Six, a special close friend, Jimmy Banks of Edgefield, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ms. Maffett was preceded in death by two brothers, Elon Clinton Maffett and Randolph Maffett and a sister, Rudell Maffett Hare.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ralph Riley and Caroline Bush, N.P., for the care they have provided and to the staff and nurses of Saluda Nursing Center, Wise Wing.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Trinity Cemetery with Rev. Louie Murray and Rev. Mark Fincannon officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
