Obituary

Annette Lester Crouch, 99, of Ward went to be with her Lord on September 3, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Monroe and Betty Werts Lester and the wife of the late Thomas Milton Crouch.

Surviving are her three sons, Milton (Barbara); Alfred (Ann); and Tim (Joanne). She is survived by seven grandchildren, Lee (Chris) Powers; Jay (Christy) Crouch; Sara (Robby) Holsenback; Judy (Carly) Alvarez; Nell (Todd) Crowe; James Crouch; and Martin (Kimberly) Crouch; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Tennant and Ruth Riley Tennant, and brothers, George "G.B." Lester and James Lester.

Annette grew up in the Hollywood Community. She was the organist for many years at Corinth Lutheran Church. She was a talented high school basketball player and loved the outdoors.

In1953, she and Thomas moved to a farm in the Ward area where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of the Ward Good Hope Lutheran Church, where she also played the organ. She treasured her collie dogs and her vegetable garden, which she continued to plant, tend, and distribute until she was 96 years old.

She devoted her life to being a loyal wife and loving mother. She cherished family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving Day. We give thanks for having had the opportunity to have her influence in our lives.

The family will receive friends at Ramey Funeral Home at 3pm on Saturday, September 6th. Services will follow at Ramey's chapel at 4pm with Rev. Bill Newman officiating. Burial will be in Travis Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Hope Lutheran Church, 927 Spann Rd., Ward, SC 29166 or to the charity of one's choice.

The family is very grateful to her two compassionate caregivers, Julie Kornet and Kelly Miller and to Tri-County Hospice for their care, comfort, and support.
