Dolores Annette Derrick, 83, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Saluda County, she was the daughter of the late Fred William and Edith Banks Derrick. She graduated from Saluda High School and Columbia College in 1951. Ms. Derrick retired after 43 years of service from Ware Shoals High School . She was a member of Gassaway United Methodist Church where she was the pianist for over 65 years.

Surviving are two brothers, Rev. Allen Derrick of Saluda and Doyle Derrick (Jenny) of Charleston, nieces and nephews, Bill Derrick of Ware Shoals, Dee Derrick Fields of Ware Shoals, Gena D. Clark (Randy) of Monroe, NC and Dr. Brian Derrick of Greenville and a great-niece, Brianna Fields of Ware Shoals.

Ms. Derrick was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion Bankston Derrick and John W. Derrick.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Gassaway United Methodist Church, 1269 McCormick Hwy., Saluda, SC 29138 with Rev. William Hightower officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the church.
