Annie McAlister Smith, 79, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at HospiceCare of the Piedmont.

Born in Greensboro, GA and a daughter of the late Ben F. and Mae Noggles McAlister, she was the wife of the late Kenneth Edward Smith. Mrs. Smith was a retired clerk and treasurer with the Town of Saluda and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Ben W. Smith (Michelle W.) of Saluda, a daughter, Kennifer S. Cox (Thomas W.) of Matthews, NC, a sister, Beverly Wilson (Darron) of Saluda, two grandchildren, Jacob Kenneth Cox and David Alan Cox both of Matthews, NC , five nieces and two nephews.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Ben George McAlister and a sister, Betty Jo Underwood.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Bart Sistare officiating. Interment will follow in Travis Park Cemetery.
