Bennie Lee Boatwright, 76, died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Paul and Gladys Anderson Boatwright, he was the husband of Patricia Ann Thompson Boatwright. Mr. Boatwright was a self- employed Grounds Superintendent and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ann Thompson Boatwright, a son, Thomas Russell Boatwright of Batesburg, three brothers, Monty Boatwright of Aiken, David Boatwright of VA and Ricky Boatwright of Monetta, four sisters, Barbara Fulmer of Clermont, FL, Rebecca Golliner of Aiken, Judi Chambers of Charleston and Paula Hook of Aiken, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Boatwright was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Lee Boatwright, Jr.

A Memorial service will be held 5 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
