Bessie Rebecca Hodge Monroe, 85, died Friday, April 8, 2016 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Bath County, VA, formerly of Folkston, GA and was a daughter of the James and Lanie Belle Shaffier Hodge, she was the wife of the late Art Monroe. Mrs. Monroe was a retired auctioneer.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph McCary (Paula) of Providence, KY and Cecil Whittle (Belva) of Millboro, VA, two daughters, Virginia Henry (Lee) of Saluda and Jane Adams of Prattsville, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
