Betty Able

Betty Jean Gillian Able, 83, died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born in Spartanburg County and a daughter of the late John Calhoun Gillian and Elizabeth Estelle Robbins Gillian, she was the wife of Don Allen Able. Mrs. Able was a homemaker and was a member of Richland Spring Baptist Church, where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher. She loved camping and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Don Allen Able, two daughters, Donna Rodgers (Buck) of Ward and Missy McKay (Jeffrey) of Monetta, two sisters, Grace Willette Rodgers and Joyce Hamby both of Johnston, two brothers, James Gillian of Johnston and Bill Gillian of Chesnee, five grandchildren, Allen Rodgers (Crystal), Tiffany Shaw (Andrew), Lance Rodgers (Katie), Jonathon McKay (Mary) and Jason McKay and ten great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Able was preceded in death by a son, Don Allen Able, Jr., a brother, Marshall Gillian and a sister, Marjorie Rhoden.

A Memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, 12, 2019 at Richland Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Social hall.
