Betty Rodgers

Betty June Green Rodgers, 86, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at her home.

Born in Camden-on-Gauley, WV and a daughter of the late Clarence and Virginia Foster Green, she was the wife of the late Prevo "Pete" Bunyon Rodgers. She was a homemaker and a stunt driver with the Joie Chitwood Auto Thrill Show, where she would ride a motorcycle inside the circular steel cage. She was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Prevo Rodgers, Jr. (Lisa) of Saluda, Jason Rodgers of Johnston and Mark Stone of FL, two daughters, Donna Blackston of Lexington and Debra Hunter of Ninety Six, three brothers, Joseph Murphy and John Murphy both of Greenfield and Clarence Foster of WV, Mass, three sisters, Martha Sumner of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Barbara Chandler of Auburn, IL, and Janice Macleay of Turner Falls, Mass, nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rodgers is preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Merchant, and two sisters, Judy Metcalf and Gladys Silva.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Burton Campbell officiating.
