Betty Padgett, 82, a resident of The Saluda Nursing Center for almost 10 years, died Wednesday, July 27, 2022 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Willette Temple Padgett of the Sardis Community of Saluda County.
Betty was a life member of Sardis Baptist Church. She was known for her cheerful attitude, delicious cakes, and knowledge of family history.
She is survived by a brother, Aubrey Padgett of Saluda; niece, Beth Padgett of Greenville; nephews, Lee Padgett of Greenwood, Russell (Roxanne) Padgett of Simpsonville, Joe (Diane) Padgett of Saluda, and Robert Riley (Jill) of Hodges, along with great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Olivia P. Riley.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday July 30, 2022 at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in hour prior to the service at the church.
