Betty Matthews Trotter, 88, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at her residence.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Joe and Nannie Addy Matthews, she was the wife of Kester Merle Trotter. Mrs. Trotter was co-founder of Trotter Builders and Supplies and she was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Kester Merle Trotter, a daughter, Myrle T. Holmes of Saluda, a son, Gene Trotter (Susan) of Saluda, seven grandchildren, Kes Holmes (Lucinda), Kristi Dockery (John), Katie Holmes, Matthew Trotter (Leigh), Michael Trotter (Jessica), Britt Trotter and Mary Beth Schumpert (Will), six great-grandchildren, Harley, McKlain, Westin, Addy Grace, Luke and Chandler and a loving sister and brother in-law, Gayle and Jimmy Smith of Gilbert.

Mrs. Trotter was preceded in death by a sister, Leneil M. Bedenbaugh.

A graveside service will be held 3:30 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Travis Park Cemetery.
