Bobby Hipp

Bobby William Hipp, 86, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024, at Newberry Hospital.

Born in Saluda, and a son of the late Robert Lee Hipp and Ellie Black Hipp, he was the husband of the late Johnette Whitman Hipp and the late Gloria Mitchell Eidson Hipp. He was a proud charter member of the Hollywood Ruritan Club, a former volunteer with Hollywood Fire Department and a faithful member of Bethany Methodist Church.

Mr. Hipp was a dairy farmer and proudly served as a state meat inspector for Clemson University, where he contributed his knowledge and expertise to ensure the safety and quality of South Carolina's agricultural products. After retirement he continued farming with his beef cattle. He had a lifelong love for his Oliver Tractors, and a passion for farming.

He was also a proud member of the South Carolina Cattleman's Association, where he worked to support and promote the interests of local farmers. His involvement in the Forestry community further showcased his commitment to preserving South Carolina's natural resources.

A loving family man who cherished his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris Lake (Tony), two sons, Dean Hipp (Andrea) and Wade Hipp (Crystal) all of Saluda, two step children, Keith Eidson (Laura), of Leesville and Tonya Eidson, two sisters, JoAnn Coleman (Bob) and Judy Stewart, seven grandchildren, Courtney Lake, Jessica Reyes (Eduardo), Emily Hipp, John Hipp, Devin Hipp, Grace Hipp Moore (Seth), and Daniel Hipp all of Saluda, two step grandchildren, Adam Eidson and Katie Eidson of Leesville and a great-grandson, Logan Reyes, of Saluda.

Mr. Hipp is preceded in death by four brothers, Olin Hipp (Dot), J.C. Hipp (Edith), Heyward Hipp (Dot), and Furman Hipp (Vermelle) and a brother-in-law, Roy Stewart.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at Ramey Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Bethany Methodist Church with Rev. Mark English and Rev. Dan Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
