Mark Godwin, Jr.

Cameron "Mark" Bismark Godwin, Jr., 90, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at MUSC Medical Center in Charleston from a long illness.

Born in Summerton, SC and a son of the late Cameron Bismark Godwin, Sr. and Anna Wilkie Godwin, he was the husband of the late Cary Ann Kishpaugh Godwin. Mark was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and was retired from South Carolina Electric Cooperative. He was a charter member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Darlington, later a member and Deacon at Deer Park Baptist in Ladson, SC and most recently attended Doorway Baptist in N. Charleston.

Mark enjoyed all sports but mostly the South Carolina Gamecocks. He loved reading Lewis L'amour books, watching Westerns and cooking delicious waffles for his precious grandchildren. He was a wonderful person with a big heart and had a huge love for animals.

Surviving are a son, Bobby Godwin of Goose Creek, two granddaughters, Margaret Godwin Conner of Lake Jackson, TX and Kinsey "CC" Hanniford (Dange) of Darlington, mother of the granddaughters, Terry Hundley Godwin of Denver, NC, three great-grandchildren, Cameron Elizabeth Conner, Nolan Godwin Conner both of Lake Jackson, TX, and Daniel Eugene Hanniford of Darlington, a stepdaughter, Ginger Gradeff (Paul) of Truckee, CA, a stepson, Tim Holdford (Kim) of Florence, five step-grandchildren, Carly Gradeff of NY, Sydney Gradeff of AZ, Parker Holdford, Cutler Holdford, and Sawyer Hipp all of Florence.

Mark was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Ward and Billie Lou Bradham, a former wife, Frankie Kinsey Godwin and a step-grandson, Fincher Hipp.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Jordan United Methodist Church Cemetery, Jordan Church Rd., Manning, SC 29102.
