Carl Gentry
Carl Nelson Gentry, 80, passed away June 8, 2023, at Saluda Nursing Home.
Born in Saluda County, he was the son of the late Sam and Ethel Goodman Gentry. He was a retired supervisor at Columbia Nitrogen and previously served in the Army National Guard of South Carolina. He attended Dean's Chapel.
Surviving are a son, David Gentry (Tanya) of Saluda, two sisters, Judy Long and Susan Long both of Saluda, four grandchildren Alicia Shealy (Donnie), Kristin Pegueros (Chupon), Chris Ward (Brittany) and David C. "Cole" Gentry Jr. (Sanyia), two great-grandchildren, Kitty Castro, Beau Gentry, and a sister-in-law Debra Gentry.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ralph Riley and the Saluda Nursing Home Staff for their loving care and compassion.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Ray Southerland officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saluda Nursing Center, PO Box 398, Saluda, SC 29138.
