She will be remembered as a tireless worker, who embraced a lifetime of service to family, church and community. A devout Lutheran, community servant, passionate teacher and loving "Mimi"; she served many roles and touched many lives throughout her lifetime.

A 1949 graduate of Winthrop College, she earned a degree in Home Economics with a degree in Secondary Education and furthered her studies at University of Tennessee. She embarked on a lifetime devoted to youth development as an extension agent and a science teacher.
