Carolyn Hurt

Carolyn Nicholson Hurt, 88, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Westminster Memory Care in Lexington surrounded by her family.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin Nicholson, Sr. and Hortense Birdie Rodgers Nicholson, she was the wife of the late Harold Watkins Hurt. Mrs. Hurt was retired from Milliken and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Hurt Riley (Buck) and Jan Hurt both of Saluda, a sister, Jean White of Saluda and eight grandchildren, Austin Riley, MacKenzie Stuck (Jaye), Grey Riley, Danilyn Chapman, Mya Chapman, Daniel Chapman, Jonathon Chapman and Jordan Chapman.

Mrs. Hurt was preceded in death by a son, Harold Danny Hurt, two brothers, J.B. Nicholson and Heyward "Red" Nicholson and two sisters, Evelyn Owdom and Birdie Nicholson.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Burton Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm in the church social hall.
