Carolyn White

Carolyn Freeman White, 92, of Saluda, South Carolina, was called home to the Lord on
November 10, 2025.

Born on July 7, 1933, in Newberry, SC, Carolyn was the daughter of Horace Glenn Freeman, Sr. and Maebell Burden Freeman.

Carolyn grew up in Epworth Orphanage, where she learned the value of perseverance and
faith—qualities that carried her through life's challenges. She retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections after a long career of dedicated service as a correctional officer where she was affectionately known as Mama White.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, William H. White; her brother, Curtis Freeman; and her great-grandson, Judd Gardner. She is survived by her siblings Lula Mae Freeman Walton and Horace Freeman (Jenny); and her son, Larry Kyzer (Barbara Nichols Kyzer). She also leaves behind three granddaughters: Ashley Kyzer Parker (Soran), Allison Kyzer Gardner (Brandon), and Lindsay Kyzer Brehmer (Kevin), as well as seven great-grandchildren: Kyzer, Harling, Briar, Kip, Henley, Blaine, and Callie Anne.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures— baking something sweet to share with others,
engaging in friendly conversations, and the quiet beauty of cats. She took delight in bringing unexpected joy to those she was closest to. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with loved ones gone before her.

A graveside service will be held to honor her memory at Corinth Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 12th at 11:00 am with graveside visitation to follow.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff of Saluda Nursing Center for their exceptional care and kindness throughout Carolyn's stay, and for the comfort they provided during her final days.
