Carrie Mae Oswald
Carrie Mae Black Oswald, 87, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late John Tillman Black and Mannie Ellen Black, she was the wife of the late Ethan "Jack" Julian Zeblon Oswald. Mrs. Oswald was retired from Knight's Industries and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, John Allan Oswald (Linda) of Saluda, three daughters, Caffie O. Summer of Hodges, Julia O. Tennant of Saluda and Michelle Oswald of NC, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Oswald was preceded in death by a son, Ethon Ray Oswald and four brothers, Frank Black, John "Bill" Black, Raymond Black and Perry Black.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. C.B. Turner and Rev. Michael Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
