Carroll Bledsoe, Sr.

Carroll Wallace Bledsoe, Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda, he was a son of the late Allie Bledsoe and Louise Cockrell Bledsoe. Mr. Bledsoe was a devoted public servant and a respected member of his community, spending many years in service as a supervisor in public safety. Throughout his career, he worked diligently in both law enforcement and emergency medical services, answering the call to protect and care for others with professionalism, courage, and compassion.

A proud graduate of Saluda High School, he carried the values of hard work and dedication with him throughout his life. Mr. Bledsoe also honorably served his country as a member of the South Carolina National Guard in the Saluda Unit, demonstrating his deep commitment to both his community and nation.

Outside of his career, Mr. Bledsoe cherished time spent with his family, whom he loved dearly. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he treasured every moment shared with them. His love was unwavering, and the memories he created will be carried on for generations. He was happiest when surrounded by those closest to him, enjoying life's simple moments. He also had a passion for working on cars, a hobby that brought him both relaxation and a sense of accomplishment.

Surviving are two sons, Carroll Wallace Bledsoe, Jr. of Saluda and John Victor Giles Bledsoe of West Columbia, a daughter, Jennifer Bledsoe Wilder (Doug) of South Congaree, five grandchildren, Brianna Bledsoe, Kinsey Bledsoe, Shane Alfieri (Rachel), Callie Alfieri, and Caroline Wilder, and a great granddaughter, Evelyn Alfieri.

Mr. Bledsoe was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Kyzer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
