Charles Tillman Black, Sr.

Charles Tillman Black Sr., 70, of Saluda, SC died Wednesday July 11, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family.

Born on November 21, 1947 in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Woodrow Padgett Black and Thelma Elizabeth Curenton Black.

He was a member of Corinth Lutheran Church, Saluda, SC.

He worked at Policy Management Systems Corp. and Marty's Toy Towns. He graduated from Greenwood High School, and attended Newberry College, Oglethorpe University and graduated from Midland Technical College.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jane Hendrix Black of Saluda, SC, and son Charles Tillman Black, Jr. of Columbia, SC. Nieces, Karen (Kenneth) Lowman and Jenny Pauline Black. Nephew, Joel (Katherine) Black, Cousins, Pat (Diane) Sullivan, Barry (Angela) Sullivan and Carolyn (Tom) O'Brien. Godchildren, Beth Lilienthal McGuire, Amanda Lilienthal Shoup and Dylan McGuire.

He was predeceased by his brother, Bobby Joel Black and sister-in law Brenda Boozer Black.

The family will receive friends on Friday July 13, 2018 at Ramey Funeral Home, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on July 14, 2018 at Corinth Lutheran Church.

Following the service, burial will be held at Cleves Matthews Cemetery, Batesburg, SC.
