Charles "Charlie" Monroe Gable, Jr., 51, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Columbia VA Healthcare System.

Born in Lexington County, and a son of Charlie Monroe Gable, Sr. and the late Mimmie Etter Rowe Gable, he was the husband of Kathryn McKinzie Gable. Charlie was a man who never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A true master of all trades, there was very little he could not build, fix, or figure out. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors whenever they needed him.

An avid outdoorsman, Charlie found great joy in hunting and fishing, especially deer hunting and spending time on the water fishing alongside his beloved wife. He also enjoyed boating and cherished the peaceful moments spent outdoors. He was an enthusiastic collector of firearms and took great pride in his collection.

Charlie loved searching for treasures while thrifting and was always excited to find a good bargain. He enjoyed relaxing in his man cave, playing pool, and spending time with his faithful dog, Buddy, who was a constant companion.

Above all, Charlie loved his family and friends. He treasured every moment spent with them and created countless memories that will be cherished for generations. His kindness, sense of humor, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His legacy of love, friendship, and hard work will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Gable; two sons, AJ Gable and Alex Maddox; two step-daughters, Elizabeth Lake and KD Russell; sister, Jennifer Hatcher (Jason) of Saluda; father, Charlie Monroe Gable, Sr. of Gilbert; three grandchildren, Madison Russell, Hannah Russell, and Elijah Russell; a niece, Emmy Hatcher; a nephew, Dawson Hatcher; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his mother, Mimmie Rowe Gable, and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 12, 2026, from 6 – 7 at Ramey Funeral Home, 202 N. Rudolph St. Saluda, SC 29138.
