Christine Gentry

Christine Riser Gentry, 79, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Curtis Riser and Sula Mae Gillion Riser, she was the wife of the late Curtis Oscar Gentry, Sr. Mrs. Gentry was retired from Regial and was a member of Richland Spring Baptist Church.

Surviving are, three sons, Oscar Gentry, Jr (Debra), Kenny Gentry, Sr. (Sharon) and Allen Gentry, Jr., all of Ward, a step-son, Randy Quarells (Joyce) of Ward, a sister, Linda Allen of Spartanburg, seven grandchildren, Melissa Gentry (Anthony), Ashly Gantt (Kevin), Kenny Gentry, Jr. (Amy), Justin Gentry, Robbie Quarells (Kristen), Jennifer Clark (John) and Randy Quarles, Jr., 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Gentry is preceded in death by one son, Ricky Gentry, Sr., four sisters, Effie Lee Burnette, Francis Gentry, Jeanette Voiselle and Peggy Joyce Riser and three brothers, Johnny Wyman Riser, Robert Riser and James Riser.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Prisma Health Hospice, Mary Gantt, Eva Lyles, and Pastor Charles Pollock.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at Johnson Family Cemetery with Rev. Charles Bodie officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
