Christine Cockrell Rodgers, 86, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Self Regional Healthcare.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Jesse James and Vera Chapman Cockrell, she was the wife of Trudell Rodgers. Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker and was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church for over 70 years. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Trudell Rodgers, a son, Mike Rodgers (Janice) of Simpsonville, a daughter, Pam McCary (Randall) of Saluda, five grandchildren, Eric Rodgers (Brooke), Brent Rodgers, Lauren Standifer (Grafton), Paige White (Brandon) and Amy Ouzts (Charlie) and five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lille, Liege, Oliver and Sydney Kate.

Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

A Graveside service will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Travis Park Cemetery with Rev. Holcombe and Rev. Howle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Red Bank Baptist Church.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Pam McCary, 403 E. Highland Ave., Saluda, SC 29138.
