Curtis Oscar Gentry, Jr., 64, died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood surrounded by his family.
Born in Augusta, GA and a son of the late Curtis Oscar Gentry, Sr. and Christine Riser Gentry, he was the husband of Debra Anne Umbarger Gentry. Oscar was employed with Best Dressed Chicken (formerly Gentry's Poultry), where he was known as "The Boss" around the company. He was a member of Richland Spring Baptist Church and loved riding his Harleys, spending time hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Anne Umbarger Gentry, two daughters, Melissa Gentry (Anthony) of Saluda and Ashly Gantt (Kevin) of Warrenville, a brother, Kenny Gentry, Sr. (Sharon) of Ward, eleven grandchildren, Amy, Kandon, Landon (Savannah), Tristen, Jon, Nate, Raymond "RL", Gracelynn, Tyler, Annalee and Ava, a great-granddaughter, Natalie and his beloved furry companion, Tater.
Oscar was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Gentry, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Metts officiating. Interment will follow in Quattlebaum Cemetery in Leesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
