Deborah Matthews Vance
Deborah Jean Matthews Vance, 66, died Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge in Columbia.
Born in Itazuke Air Base, Fukuoka, Japan, and a daughter of the late Julian Theodore "Ted" Matthews and Betty Matthews Oswald, she was the wife of William Campbell Vance. Mrs. Vance was retired from the Tax Assessor office with Saluda County and was employed with Farm Bureau. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, where she was the choir director and taught Sunday school.
Surviving are her husband, William Campbell Vance; a son, Christopher Campbell Vance of Memphis, TN; a daughter, Michelle Vance Yancey of Lexington; two sisters, Patti Royal and Tina Feaster; three brothers, J.T. Matthews, Jr., Russell Matthews and Paul McLaughlin; two grandchildren, Will Yancey and Cole Yancey; and a large extended family.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m., Tuesday at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Campbell and Pastor Michael Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Mrs. Deborah Vance.
