Donnis Fulmer

Donnis Mitchell Fulmer, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at her home.

Born in Saluda, and a daughter of the late Travis Barrett Mitchell and Renna Ridgell Mitchell, she was the wife of the late Raymond Leroy Fulmer, Jr. Mrs. Fulmer was a graduate of Furman University - Byrnes Scholar. She was a teacher for 30 years with the Saluda County School District. After retiring she joined the retired teacher society, Delta Kappa Gamma. At Sardis she served on various committees and the WMU. She was the pianist for Sardis Baptist Church for 55 years, along with being a faithful member.

Surviving are a daughter, Marlynn Alewine (Stanley), two granddaughters, Jessica Alewine and Kristen Quarles (Robbie), three great-granddaughters, Chandler and Graysn Quarles and Karsyn Alewine all of Saluda, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fulmer was preceded in death by two sisters, Perrine M. Daley and Marie Merchant, three brothers, Willard Mitchell, Julian Mitchell, and Lorian Mitchell, and infant, Barrett Mitchell.

The family would like to give special thanks to niece, Virginia Merchant, for the love and care she has shown to our mother.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
