Doris Porter Forrest

Doris Porter Forrest, 84, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Forrest View Manor Retirement Center.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late John Henry Porter and Fannie Lee Edwards, she was the wife of the late Cecil Eugene Forrest, Sr. Mrs. Forrest received her associate degree in nursing from the Augusta Military University and was retired from The Medical College of Georgia. As a child she attended Emory United Methodist Church and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta.

Surviving are her son, Cecil Eugene Forrest, Jr. (Stephanie) of Johnston, a sister, Mary Elizabeth Clamp of Saluda, a brother, George Donald Porter of Saluda, five grandchildren, Jessica Coleman, Porter Coleman, Forrest Coleman, Cecil Eugene Forrest, III (Jillian) and Whitney Forrest Berry (Josh) and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Forrest was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Forrest Coleman, four brothers, Lewis Edward Porter, Thomas Richard Porter, James Everett Porter and William Ronald Porter and two sisters, Alice Rebecca Waters and Willie Ruth Langford.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
