Dorothy Stone

Dorothy Day Wheeler Stone, 101, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry.

Born in Prosperity and a daughter of the late, C.K. Wheeler and Annie Day Wheeler, she was the wife of the late William DeWertz "WD" Stone. Mrs. Stone was a graduate of Newberry College, where she earned her teaching degree and was retired from Saluda High School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a son, Don Stone (Rita) of Prosperity and a daughter, Deena Stone (David Conrath) of Virginia.

Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by a brother, Cyril Wheeler.

A graveside memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Travis Park Cemetery with Rev. Jim Glander and Rev. Emily Mooneyham officiating.
