Dorothy "Dot" Johnson
Dorothy "Dot" Yarbrough Johnson, 93, of Saluda, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Dorothy was born in Augusta, GA, on March 25, 1928 to Horace J. Yarbrough and Blanche Scurry Yarbrough. She and her husband founded Mid-State Redi Mix Concrete Company in 1954 from which she retired in 1979. She was a charter member of Saluda Baptist Church. Dot loved her church family and her Sunday School class dearly, and longed to be in fellowship with them again. Most of all, she loved the Lord and is now rejoicing in his loving, everlasting arms.
She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles P. Johnson, two infant daughters, Emma Jane and Dorothy June, and eight siblings, Lois Marley, Margaret Brendle Mitchell, Mary Tysinger, Blanche Able Robertson, Horace Yarbrough, Hayne Yarbrough, George Byrd Yarbrough and Kenneth Yarbrough.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Pow (Jerry), Joy Hyler (Randy) and Jill Forrest (special friend Jerry Holmes). She was blessed with six grandsons, Mark Pow, Brian Pow, Jeremy Pow, Randy Hyler, II (Kelley), Ryan Hyler and John David Forrest, two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Bailey Hyler, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A special thank you to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont for their love and compassionate care. You all are truly angels on this earth. Also, thank you cousin Pat Manley for faithful attention and love shown to mom.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 3 PM, Friday, September 17, 2021 at Travis Park Cemetery with Rev. Don Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
