Wayne Fulmer
E. Wayne Fulmer, 79, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Martinez, GA and the son of the late Ramond Leroy Fulmer, Sr. and Margaret Gladys Padgett Fulmer, he was the husband of the love of his life, the late Sandra Kaye Beam Fulmer. Throughout his career he served as millwright and manager, holding lengthy positions at Monsanto, Columbia Nitrogen and Amick Farms. He also served as golf pro of Greenwood Country Club for a number of years. He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church, a choir member and held many leadership positions. Mr. Fulmer was also a member of the Walk to Emmaus community. Throughout his life he was an avid golfer, deer hunter, outdoorsman. He served his community as a Saluda High Golf coach and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. In his later years, he was known for his love of sharing his famous sweet hotdog chili and what he called "P Cheese" (homemade pimento cheese) to shut ins and all who had an appetite.
He is survived by his daughter, Angie F. Rita (Randy) of Saluda, grandson, Zac Rita (Cary) of Anderson, great-granddaughter, Caroline Rita, brother-in-law Tim Kerby (Melvia), several nieces, a nephew and cousins, along with his four-legged companion Rufus.
Mr. Fulmer is preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond L. Fulmer, Jr. and W. M. Fulmer, and one sister, Evon Maw.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, November 25, 2022, at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Freeman and Rev. Jerry Pickens officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
