Edward Rodgers

Edward Eugene "Gene" Rodgers, 78, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home.

Born in Saluda and a son of the late Martin Stan and Ida Lou Rodgers, he was the husband of Dorothy Trotter Rodgers. He was a heavy equipment mechanic with Champion International Paper. He had a love for hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Trotter Rodgers of Saluda, two sons, Richard Stan Rodgers of Leesville and David Scott Rodgers (Alicia Bailey) of Ward, one sister, Willie Berry of Saluda, three grandchildren, Johnna Denean Green (Neal), Alivia Leigh Rodgers and Joshua Daniel Bailey, and two great-grandchildren, Elaina Lea Rodgers and Riley O'neal Green, Jr.

Mr. Rodgers is preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Cockrell, Cornelia Berry and Idell Hardy.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM, Monday February 27, 2023 at Saluda Memorial Gardens with Rev. Burton Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
