Elemeder "Nita" Rackley Butler, 83, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at her home.
Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Addie Elizabeth Rackley and John Dunn, and was married to the late William Daniel "Pete" Butler. She was a member of Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church and the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Mae B. Corley (Wayne) of Chappells and Barbara Arnold (Edward) of Pickens, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Elizabeth Hester of NC.
Mrs. Butler is preceded in death by three sisters, Rosie Simmons, Kizzie Dunn and Martha Gilbert, and two brothers, Arthur Dunn and Dee Dunn.
Due to Covid-19, a private funeral service will be held for the immediate family on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Buddy Cockrell and Rev. Larry Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church, 785 Old Chappells Ferry Rd., Saluda, SC 29138.
