Ernest Jerry "Cowboy" Rogers, 70, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Clyde and Helen Proctor Rogers, he was the husband of Linda Riley Rogers. Mr. Rogers served in the South Carolina National Guard, 122nd Engineer Company in Saluda and was a civil carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Saluda First Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a former member of Red Bank Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and choir member. He was a member of Saluda County Coon Hunters Association and was a crew chief and loved dirt track racing.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Riley Rogers, two daughters, Andrea Rogers Long (Deano) and Lorinda Rogers Palmer (Jeff) both of Saluda, a son, Ernest Jerry Rogers, Jr. (Gina) of Saluda, a brother, Roy Rogers (Vicky) of Saluda, a sister, Kathy Ergle (Johnnie) of Saluda, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Rogers.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Saluda First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Louie Murray, Rev. Burton Campbell and Rev. Gary Romines officiating. Interment will follow in West Travis Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
