Ethel Witt McDowell 100, widow of Herbert E McDowell died Monday, April 30, 2018 at the home of her son on Sleepy Creek Rd.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late John Martin Witt and Eula Burnice Cockrell Witt. Mrs. McDowell was a seamstress at many of the sewing plants around the area. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Saluda County.
Surviving is a son, John Witt "J.W." McDowell (Geraldine), 3 sisters; Verdelia King, Reba Wright (Ronnie), Rachel Bentley (Howard); 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, 3 sisters, and 6 brothers.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Huggins and Rev. Boyd Arnold officiating, Interment will follow in the Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 pm service time on Thursday.
The family will be at the home of John McDowell on Sleepy Creek Rd.
