F M "Pete" Cleveland, 84, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Newberry County and the son of the late John C. and Ovalene Fain Cleveland, he was the husband of the late Kathy Crouch Corley Cleveland. He worked for over 30 years at Mt. Vernon Mills where he was a sewing machine mechanic. He also served as a cook in the US Army as well as helped his wife with Kathy's Katering, and was a member of Still Waters Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Anthony F. Corley (Amanda) of Saluda, three daughters, Missey C. Sweet (Jon) of Piedmont, Jennifer C. Bartley (Eddie) of Saluda and Penelope "Penny" C. Clary of Saluda, two sisters, Marie Sabbagha of Gilbert and Effie Hoffman of Greenwood, one brother, Roy Cleveland of Johnston, 15 grandchildren, Chandler Corley (Kaitlyn), Page Owdom, Peter Corley, Emily Farmer, Natalie Farmer, Annalynn Corley, Dylan Bartley, Rebecca Bartley, Cody Clary, Ashlyn Clary, Zoey Clary, Addy Grace Clary, Jaspher Waters (Austin) and Morgan Sweet, one great-grandchild, Raelynn Waters, and a special friend, Sederis Miller.
Mr. Cleveland is preceded in death by two brothers, Wilfred O. Cleveland and G.W. Cleveland, and four sisters, Myrtle Crouch, Parthinnia Bush, Lizzie Mae Jeter and Fannie Lou Blokus.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Still Waters Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Epps officiating. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at the church.
