Faye Trotter

Faye Kirkland Trotter, 89, died Friday, February 11, 2022 at Hospice House of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Olin Monroe Kirkland and Gertrude Kirkland Holder, she was the wife of the late Ike Trotter. Mrs. Trotter was retired from Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood and was a former employee of Saluda Knitting Mill. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and was an avid reader. She had read 685 books from the Saluda County Library since June 2013.

Surviving are two daughters, Dana T. Shealy (Chris) of Saluda and Marti T. Gogan (Mike) of Canton, GA, two grandchildren, Rachel G. Tallon (Wyatt) of Cartersville, GA and Michael Gogan of Canton, GA and a great-granddaughter, Nora Faye Tallon.

Mrs. Trotter was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Storey, two sisters, Katherine Pope and Sara Nell Morse and two brothers, Virgil Kirkland and Dwight Kirkland.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Sunday afternoon at Ramey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2022 at Red Bank Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
