Flora Ellen Ray Berry's Obituary
Flora Ellen Ray Berry, 80, died Friday, November 27, 2015 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Pickens County and a daughter of the late C.T. and Dillie Gillstrap Ray, she was the wife of the late Walter Hayward Berry. Mrs. Berry was a seamstress for Saluda Shirt Plant. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a quilt maker and enjoyed cooking and canning and a volunteer for Red Cross.
Surviving are a son, Dwight Gilliland (Dee) of Saluda, a daughter, Pamela Gilliland Rankin (David) of Sumter, a brother, Wallace Ray of Pickens, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by a son, Billy Gilliland, two brothers, Millard Ray and Jimmy Ray and three sisters, Virginia Ray Hendricks, Vietta Ray Brooke and Judy Ray King.
A Graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Beauford officiating.
