Florie Temples
Florie Elizabeth Price Temples, 92, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
Born in Lexington, SC, and the daughter of the late John Earl Price, Sr. and Lillian Eloise Holley Price, she was the wife of the late Jacob Henry Temples. Mrs. Florie retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield; after retirement she worked in the office of Dr. Ralph N. Riley. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mrs. Florie dedicated her life to caring for others, always placing the needs of her loved ones before her own. Throughout her life, she found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. She had a deep love for gardening, and her home was always surrounded by vibrant blooms and lovingly tended flower beds. An exceptional cook, she loved nothing more than gathering people around her table. Her cakes, always made from scratch and served with a smile, were a symbol of the love she poured into everything she did. She found happiness in feeding others and making them feel at home.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Whittle (Dale) of Saluda and Linda Gayle Hare (Tommy) of Annapolis, MD, a brother, James Ray (Jimmy) Price, a sister-in-law, Shirley Price Oswald, three grandchildren, Grant Whittle (Marissa) of Belmont, NC, Stefanie Bierzonski (Nick) of Cranberry Township, PA and Richard Hare (Jennifer) of Queenstown, MD, and six great-grandchildren, Jacob Hare, Sparrow Hare, Becca Bierzonski, Westin Bierzonski, Stella Rose Whittle, and Layla Whittle.
Mrs. Florie was preceded in death by a brother, John Earl Price Jr, and two sisters, Louise Meyers and Sara Oswald.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ralph Riley and Caroline Bush, N.P., for the care they have provided. To the staff and nurses of Saluda Nursing Center, thank you for the love and care shown to our mother, but especially the CNA's of A and B unit that loved and cared for our mother on a daily basis.
