Franklin Foy "Joe" Cockrell, 67, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his residence.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Jacob Marvin and Maggie Oree Salters Cockrell, he was the husband of Mary Ann Bradley Cockrell. Mr. Cockrell was a retired veteran having served 20 years in the US Navy and he was a master woodcrafter.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Bradley Cockrell, three daughters, Carol Wingfield (Troy) of Greenville, Deana Crawford (Billy) of Irmo and Vanessa Stone (Michael) of Aiken, two brothers, Tony Cockrell and Johnny Cockrell both of Batesburg, two sisters, Marlene Vereen and Sheila Trull both of Greenwood, seven grandchildren, Madeline, Genevieve and Lauren Pittman, Dustin and Alison Enlow and Melinda and Ethan Stone.

A Celebration of life will be held 1 pm, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 506 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Monetta, SC 29105. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a covered dish.
