Franklin Truman Lake, 73, died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at his residence.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Carl Lake and Lenora Lorick Lake, he was the husband of Judith Ann Blackmon Lake. Mr. Lake was retired from Southeastern Freight Lines. He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church, where he was a choir member and Sunday School teacher and he was a member of Gideons International.

Surviving are his wife, Judith Ann Blackmon Lake, a daughter, Patti Storey (David) of Saluda, two brothers, Lorick Lake (Jonelle) of Saluda and Carl Lake, Jr. (Koger) of Leesville, a sister, Mildred Buzhardt of Batesburg and two granddaughters, Anna Storey and Aubrey Storey.

Mr. Lake was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Lynn Lake, a brother, Elliott Lake and two sisters, Mae Miller and Edith Pou.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
