Gavin Ellison
Gavin Rynlan Ellison, passed away on June 2, 2026, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend whose bright spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. At just 11 years old, he filled each day with joy, laughter, and love.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Matthew Brian Ellison and Ashley Meade Turner. He was homeschooled and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Gavin found happiness in the simple things that made life special. He loved swimming, bowling, and going for rides whenever he had the opportunity. One of his favorite treats was an Icee, and his smile would light up whenever he got one.
Gavin had a special love for loud noises and enjoyed experiencing the excitement and energy they brought. He also loved being held and comforted by those he loved most. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, who were the center of his world. His gentle nature, sweet spirit, and unconditional love will be remembered forever by those who were blessed to know him.
Though his time on earth was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for a lifetime.
