Gene Robertson

Gene Blackwell Robertson, 60, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital in Newberry.

A native of Saluda, and a son of Gene Aubrey Robertson and the late Virginia Fulmer Robertson, he was the husband of Debbie Laverne Cox Robertson. Mr. Robertson was a retired foreman with the South Carolina Department of Transportation in Newberry and was a member of Richland Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie Laverne Cox Robertson, three sons, Jamie Glymph (Didi) of Saluda, Brent Robertson of the home and Allen Robertson (Katrina) of Saluda, his father, Gene Aubrey Robertson of Saluda, a brother, Glen Robertson (Sandy) of Saluda, a sister, Gale Miller (Glenn) of Prosperity and a granddaughter, Makiyah Glymph.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Richland Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones and Rev. Tommy Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home and one hour prior to the service in the church Sanctuary.
